WhatsAPP New Update for Group Calls: WhatsApp social media messaging app constantly updates its functionality. According to a report on WabBetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out the new limit of participants for group calls! So, let me tell you all about these new feature that will hit the messaging platform in the few updates.

Whatsapp Brings New Limit of Participants for Group Calls!

  • You need to update your WhatsApp version to be able to create a call with more than 4 participants.

  • If you have updated but you don’t see the feature, you can consider to back up your chat history and reinstall WhatsApp, if you don’t want to wait more. Every time you reinstall WhatsApp, the most updated configurations from the server are downloaded, enabling the feature for you.

Latest Changes in WhatsApp Groups

WhatsApp recently applied changes to the call button in groups. If you are in a small group of 4 participants, you can start the call directly without selecting a participant, because all participants are automatically included in the call.

Also, WhatsApp has been testing a new feature that allows it to add more than 4 participants per call. Their tests included adjusting the user interface to allow more participants to see. And, WhatsApp is finally ready to offer 8 participants the possibility of joining a group voice or video call, with the latest beta update for iOS and Android installed.

Latest Version To Avail This Feature

Of course, you need to install the iOS 2.20.50.25 beta update from Test Flight and the 2.20.133 beta from Google Play. Also, make sure the other participants must be in the same version, otherwise they will not be included in the group call.

How To do a WhatsApp Group Voice or Video call?

Using the following 2 ways, you can do a WhatsApp Group Voice or Video Call.

  • Open a group and press the Call button: if the group has more participants than the old limit (4) in a call, WhatsApp will ask you which contacts you want to call, otherwise the call will be started directly. Group participants who are not registered in your address book will not be added to the call.

  • Open the Calls tab, press the Call button, then select New group call: here you can select the contacts to call.

If the feature is not available for you after the re-installation, don't worry. WhatsApp is rolling it out gradually and in the next few hours, you should be able to receive activation from the server.
